Have you ever purchased a beautiful notebook, with the intention of filling it with all sorts of wonderful thoughts, only to leave it blank? I have. I get stuck because I have this feeling that nothing I write will be good enough to tarnish the pages of that beautiful notebook.
I started this blog as a way to practice my writing, while also exploring a topic that is near and dear to me: speech and language. Now I find that I am paralyzed, just as I am with that notebook. Every time I sit down to write a blog post I think that nothing I write will be good enough, or that it will not work with the theme of the blog.
Today I decided to allow myself to write in my blog - anything - just for the sake of writing. Hence this post.
When I was a speech-language pathology student clinician I remember one of my clinical educators telling me to only work on one target at a time during a given therapy activity. I think that this applies here in that I need to work on one thing at a time - either my writing or expanding my knowledge in the field of speech-language pathology. Now isn't that funny, in the end this pressureless post did bring me back around to a little bit of a review of speech-language pathology.
